Sunday Drivers

Sunday was a wonderful day for us.  Rob and I slept in, played hooky from church and went out to breakfast.  After breakfast, we stopped to get some fishing gear, returned Remy's carrier to the pet shop and went by to visit my friend Elaine.

While visiting Elaine, we began to talk about taking the back road up through Ojai.  Elaine said they were doing road repairs but it was a lovely ride.  We got directions to the lake and got on our way.

The pictures here are some I took while we were on the road and out at the lake.  Rob found some great fishing spots and we found areas where the girls and I could have some fun while he fishes.  It's hard to believe this beautiful scenery is just about 20 miles from home.  Out of the city into the country in a 15 minute drive.  We truly enjoyed ourselves and came home relaxed and refreshed.  It was so nice just to have some time to ourselves.  I don't think we realized how much we needed that.

The girls came home Monday afternoon.  We had a great time while they were gone, but we missed them terribly.  It was so quiet here!

I pray for you all regularly.  You are such wonderful friends.  May you be blessed in His presence today,

That's the beauty of California...so much so close by and all different.  I love the pics...who's name is in the heart carved on the tree?

It's amazing what beauty we have on our own doorsteps but we seem to travel so far looking for other beauy spots! Recently I've been wandering round my home town and taking photos and posting them on my journal, I've never looked around so close to home before! Jeannette xx

Penny, the streams are so clear, like our mountain streams here in North Carolina. Your lake there looks untouched by human travelers.... do people camp there? Is it a State Park? I enjoy surprises such as these. Thanks for sharing the beautiful scenery... get the one of the girls to take a photo of you and Rob together!! bea

Beautiful pictures - thank you for sharing them.

We played hookey from church this past Sunday and spent some quiet time together just the two of us in the pool.  It was just what we needed.  :)

Hugs,
Gwynn

It is great to just get up sometimes and get in the car and go down a road it is surprising where you end up and at what beauty you see.  I have done that for many years and I always am surprised at the new things I see even if i go back over the same road sometimes.  Nature is so very magical and driving down a country road on a beautiful Sunday morning, brings a certain kind of piece to one's soul and  just seeing the beauty of nature in all its glory is so fascinating.

How nice for you two to have some 'alone time,'  We all need that to recharge our batteries. I'm hoping that you enjoyed yourselves, and are ready, once again, for the onslaught of the girls !  Tina
